At Hopkins: Will start at designated hitter, but will also see time in the outfield • improved his strength in the off-season and can hit for power • good eye at the plate, draws a lot of walks • runs well • played on the junior varsity team his first two seasons.
2002: Played in 38 games making 32 starts • batted .354 with 35 hits in 99 at-bats • tied for second on the team with six home runs and fourth with 35 runs scored • added nine doubles, 24 runs batted in, six stolen bases and led the team with 30 walks • also first on the club with .508 on-base percentage and third with .596 slugging percentage • his 30 walks were just six shy of the school single-season record • hit two solo home runs in 6-4 win over Haverford March 30 • was 3-for-5 with grand slam in 15-6 win over Elizabethtown March 24 • went 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBIs, and a two-run home run in 17-10 win against Washington April 2 • collected four hits in six at-bats and added one run and one RBI in 12-9 win versus Chicago March 20 • named Second Team All-Centennial.
