CAMDEN, NJ - The Johns Hopkins men's varsity eight finished second in the final at the Knecht Cup last weekend in Camden, NJ. Conditions on Saturday were perfect in the morning with no wind and flat water. On Sunday, conditions were good with a moderate tail/cross-tail wind and temperatures in the 50s.
The men's varsity four of sophomores Raheel Zubair (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood), Larkin Luo (Elk Grove, CA/Franklin), Alexander Baish (Ijamsville, MD/Georgetown Prep), Jose De La Guerra (West Palm Beach, FL/Cardinal Newman) and Adam Ammar (Chicago, IL/Whitney Young) finished fifth in its heat with a time of 7:36.9.
The novice eight team of freshmen Alisa Tuteja (Arlington, VA/Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology), Andrew Faulkner (Anchorage, AK/Phillips Academy Andover (MA)), William Cooper (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderdice), Daniel Bagdorf (Old Lyme, CT/Lyme-Old Lyme), Christian Honore (Princeton, NJ/Princeton High), George Reynolds (Washington, CT/Kent School), Marcus Webb (Moultrie, GA/Maclay School (FL)), Steve Cardinali (Pequannock, NJ/Pequannock Township), William Bagdorf (Old Lyme, CT/Lyme-Old Lyme) placed second in its heat with a time of 6:39.8. The crew then placed third in the second semifinal (6:25.6) and sixth in the grand final (6:22.0).

Pete Ranieri (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) and Nicholas Kreston (Houston, TX/Singapore American School) claimed silver in the final with a time of 6:24.9.
Next up for Johns Hopkins is the Mid Atlantic Division III Regional Championships in York, PA on April 26.
