LORTON, VA - The Johns Hopkins men's crew team had another strong showing at the Mid Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships Sunday. The Novice 8 crew won gold while the Varsity 8 took fourth.
The Varsity 8 crew of junior Madison West (New Britain, CT/Hotchkiss), freshman Andrew Faulkner (Anchorage, AK/Phillips Academy Andover (MA)), seniors Chris Vaglia (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) and Josiah Drewien (Hailey, ID/The Community School), sophomore Joshua Crist (Akron, OH/Nordonia), freshmen George Reynolds (Washington, CT/Kent School) and Will Cooper (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderdice), junior Taylor Reese (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) and sophomore Pete Ranieri (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) finished fourth in the Grand Final after placing second in its heat.
The Varsity 4 crew placed second in its heat and then sixth in the Grand Final. In the boat were sophomore Stephen Hou (Fort Mill, SC/Fort Mill), junior Cameron Ward (Bremerton, VA/Olympic), sophomores Dante Ross (Napa, CA/Vintage), Larkin Luo (Elk Grove, CA/Franklin) and Alexander Baish (Ijamsville, MD/Georgetown Prep).
The Novice 8 crew won the Grand Final for its second consecutive gold medal and third medal finish in the last four races. In the boat were freshmen

Marcus Webb (Moultrie, GA/Maclay School (FL))
Next up for Hopkins is the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia May 9-10.
